In 2012, our first volunteer trip to Tohoku, Japan, we visited temporary housing, listened to the residents, prepared food , removed weeds from a garden and the like. On the last day, we took a bus tour around the disaster areas in Miyagi Prefecture. At this time all of the debris was piled up. All that was visible
was hundreds of concrete foundations, large buildings tipped on their side and steel girders that once had walls. While I was busy looking at these remains through the car window Jesus spoke to my heart saying, "As time goes by these places will be rebuilt as if nothing happed before. However, what about people's hearts? Don't you think people are wounded and hurt in the same way the buildings were broken into pieces? Who can know and understand these people's wounds and hurts? Who can heal their broken hearts?"
(See CD jacket for more detail)
All things were washed away by Tsunami. But I want you to notice that the true rebuilding of Tohoku will come from the restoration of peoples' hearts. I want to see them healed and the Tohoku area be revived! The song, "Hope and Joy in This Land". is written prophetically. based on the Word of God, proclaiming what will happen to Tohoku in the future.
